Day 1 - Depart from Spalding at 8am, arriving at the Park Hotel about 4.30pm

Day 2 - Depart the hotel at 9.30am to Dartington Crystal. The first phase of our brand new Visitor Experience is here!  We want to welcome you to our new and improved visitor experience. Our creative team of in-house staff have been working tirelessly for the last six months to make something quite special, something that is both a leisure experience as well as being a lasting archive of some of the wonderful craftmanship of its North Devon's glass makers. The new Visitor Experience houses an updated and upgraded Timeline Exhibition of Dartington Crystal's products spanning over 50 years of history from 1967 to the present day. An Audio Visual Theatre provides details of the history and heritage of Dartington Crystal as well as giving an insight into the modern day factory. As well as being able to see glass making demonstrations in a newly installed studio furnace area, Master Engraver Nick Davey will be creating master pieces right before your eyes. Factory shop and cafĂ© also available. Late morning we depart and make our way to RHS Garden, Rosemoor. RHS Garden Rosemoor is an enchanting garden nestled in the beautiful Torridge Valley and home of Tarka the Otter and located within half an hour of Dartmoor National Park. Surrounded by woodland, the garden is rich in variety throughout every season and features inspiring planting displays enhanced by the natural beauty of Devon. These include the largest rose gardens in the South West; the stunning Hot Garden; the brand new RHS Chelsea Gold Medal winner designed Cool Garden; a Devon Cottage Garden; lake, stream and waterfall; The Fruit and Vegetable Garden; a Victorian Stumpery; natural flower meadows and bluebell carpeted woodlands.

Day 3 - Depart the hotel at 9.30am for a scenic drive over Exmoor on the A39. The A39 is an extremely beautiful and rewarding journey to make in south west England. In Cornwall and North Devon, the road is known as the Atlantic Highway. With ver changing scenery, you will get views of the moorland as well as the coast. Once we reach Minehead we will board the West Somerset Railway to Bishops Lydeard. The gently rolling Quantock hills and distant Exmoor, unspoilt villages and farms nestling in leafy lanes, the cliffs and coast of the Bristol Channel with views of distant South-Wales, confident Church Towers, Dunster's imposing Castle and Minehead's seaside charm are all waiting to be discovered.

Day 4 - Day at leisure in Barnstaple. Barnstaple is one of the UK's oldest boroughs as well as being one of the largest towns in North Devon. It is home to a number of the well-known historic markets, as well as being the base of the flagship Brend Hotels chain. It's no surprise that it is one of the region's premier towns. As can be expected of somewhere with a rich history, there are plenty of things to see and do to learn more about the town's heritage as well as regular events which celebrate the culture of this part of Devon. One of the most famous heritage attractions in Barnstaple is the historic Pannier Market which plays host to a range of events - from regular markets to showcases of delicious local produce and incredible street food. The Pannier Market has been the host of markets for over 1,000 years and has been standing since the 1800s. The Pannier Market is flanked by Butcher's Row, a terrace of ten shops under an iron roof, which as the name suggests, historically was the location of a number of butchers. These days, there are instead a host of interesting independent stores which cements Barnstaple's draw as a haven for shoppers. Find out more about the region's history at one of the local museums ,including the The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon, which is the perfect way to discover more about North Devon. Just next to the library in the town centre, you'll find the remains of Barnstaple Castle, this former Motte and Baily Castle was a main feature of the town during Norman times. The site is thought to have originally been a Saxon graveyard and has also been developed during the Victorian era. These days, you can reward yourself for finding the castle with the incredible views of the Taw Valley from the top. It isn't just the remains of a castle that can be found in the town. You can also find the remains of the Barnstaple Elephant which is housed in one of the town's museum. The elephant was discovered in the town and has been dated back to a species that died out over 115,000 years ago! You could also venture further afield on public transport to Clovelly, Bideford or Ilfracombe.
